There is a washing machine located in the external guest storage building, and there is an outside washing line, as well as an indoor clothes airer. We have a cot, highchair and stairgate available should you have an infant. Please request these when you book. We also have a hard shell dog basket, and dog bowls for your use.
Are bed linen and towels included in the rental?
Yes, all bed linen and towels are provided for our guests. We use 450GSM 100% cotton towels. Our white bed linen is 100% cotton, 200 thread count.
What kitchen essentials are available?
We have a range of kitchen utensils including a dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, range cooker, hand mixer, digital kitchen scales, crockery and cutlery, glassware, baking equipment, egg cups, and so on.
How is the check-in/check-out process managed?
Prior to your stay you will receive details for check-in. The key will be stored in a key safe for your arrival, and we ask that you leave it in the key safe when you depart. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am.
Is there parking available on-site?
Yes there is parking immediately in front of the house, with room for several cars. There is also a covered parking bay if required.
Are pets allowed?
We welcome one well-behaved dog. Please contact us if you are looking to stay and you have more than one dog. We ask that dogs don’t sit on the living room furniture, and don’t sleep in the beds. We do provide a hard shell dog basket (please bring your own bedding), but you are welcome to bring your own dog furniture.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel the booking more than 4 weeks prior to your holiday date, you will be entitled to a refund of the rental charges you have paid minus the deposit.
If you need to cancel the booking less than 4 weeks prior to your holiday date, you will not be entitled to a refund of the rental charges – however if we were able to rebook the dates with another guest then we would be willing to consider a refund.
How can guests contact someone in case of emergencies or issues?
Details of how to contact the owners are provided in the welcome pack which you will receive ahead of your stay.
Is there Wi-Fi available?
Yes Wi-Fi is available, but please bear in mind that we are in a rural location, and it may not be as good as speeds you may be used to!
Are there any supermarkets or restaurants nearby?
The nearest supermarkets are in Whitby (Co-op, Lidl, Aldi and Sainsburys), there is a village shop in Glaisdale and a village shop in Lealholm – the shop in Lealholm is very well stocked considering it’s size and has plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, freshly baked bread, etc.
There are several pubs in the villages of Egton, Egton Bridge, Lealhom and Glaisdale, and many more pubs and restaurants further afield. Once you have booked, we will send you a welcome email with details of places to eat.
What is the nearest public transportation option?
The nearest train stations are at Glaisdale or Lealholm (approx. 2 miles), from which you can travel on the Whitby to Middlesbrough line.
Is Westonby Lodge child-friendly?
Yes we are child-friendly. We have one travel cot and a highchair available for use, as well as one stairgate. There is plenty of open space in the garden for children to play. All of the beds can be made up as twins, which means we can be very flexible to accommodate the needs of you and your family.
What is the smoking policy?
We request that you do not smoke in the house. If you wish to smoke, please do this outside, and we kindly request that you safely dispose of used cigarettes.

Is the property accessible for disabled guests?
Unfortunately, our property is not wheelchair friendly. However, for the elderly and people with limited mobility, we do have a downstairs bedroom and a downstairs shower room.
